Bomb pots

Everyone puts in the same chips, there's no betting before the flop, and the flop comes straight out. A big pot, every player in, and on up to three boards at once.

How a bomb pot works

  1. Everyone antes. Each player dealt in puts in the same amount, set by the host. There are no blinds.
  2. The flop comes straight out. No betting before it: everyone sees the flop.
  3. Then it's normal poker. Bet, raise or fold on the flop, turn and river, starting left of the button. The best hand wins.

The dealer button stays where it is for a bomb pot, so nobody misses or pays a blind twice.

Two or three boards

A bomb pot can be dealt on two or three boards at once. Every player plays the same cards against each board, and each board wins an equal share of the pot. You might win one board, split another and lose the third.

Hold'em or Omaha style

The host chooses two cards each, as in Hold'em, or four, as in Omaha, where your hand must use exactly two of them. The betting can be no limit or pot limit. Four-card, pot-limit, double-board bomb pots are a home-game classic.

When they're dealt

  • Every so many hands, such as one every orbit, on a count the host sets.
  • When the host deals one, from the Host menu.
  • When a player asks: the host approves it, or the host can let the table vote one in.

The table says "Bomb pot" over the pot as the antes go in, so nobody's surprised.
