Private tables

A private poker table, just for your friends

Your own table with its own link. Only the people you send it to can find it, and only the people you let in can sit down.

Private by design

There's no lobby full of strangers on Poker Rooms. Every table is private: it exists for the people with its link, and nobody else can find it.

  • Only by link. A table isn't listed or searchable anywhere. Share its link in your group chat and that's who knows about it.
  • The host lets people in. Everyone joining a new table asks to sit down, and the host says yes, so a forwarded link doesn't bring in a stranger.
  • Lock it. Once everyone's there, lock the table so nobody new can ask, and choose whether anyone may watch.
  • Remove or mute anyone, if you need to, and let them back later.

Set up in under a minute

  1. Start a table and pick the game: No-Limit Hold'em, Pot-Limit Hold'em or Pot-Limit Omaha, as a cash game or a tournament.
  2. Set the stakes in chips: the blinds and the buy-in, or a tournament structure.
  3. Send the link. Friends tap it on a phone or a laptop, pick a name and a seat, and they're in.

The game your group plays

Private doesn't mean basic. Every table comes with what a good home game needs:

  • Host controls: pause, change the blinds between hands, approve chips, seat late arrivals, name a co-host.
  • Side games: straddles, running it twice and the rabbit hunt are free; bomb pots, pot folds and more with Premium. See them all.
  • A ledger of every buy-in and result in chips, with the fewest transfers to even everyone up.
  • Fair dealing you can check: after any hand, "Verify this deal" proves the deck wasn't changed once the deal began. How it works.
  • Chat and reactions, and replays of any hand.

Chips only, always

Poker Rooms is a game for friends, not gambling. Chips keep score and nothing more: they can't be bought, sold or exchanged, and they're worth nothing. That's what lets anyone start a table, anywhere, in seconds.

Questions

Good to know.

Can strangers find or join my table?
No. A table is only found by its link, it isn't listed anywhere, and everyone joining a new table asks to sit down, so the host lets in only the people they expect.
Do my friends need an account or an app?
No. They tap the link, pick a name and an avatar, and sit down, on any phone, tablet or computer. An account is only for keeping your history and stats across devices.
Is it real money?
No. Poker Rooms is chips only. Chips are never bought, sold or worth anything, and no real money is played, won or paid out.
How many can play?
A cash table seats 2 to 10, and up to 9 players is free. A tournament is one table free, or with Premium up to six tables and 60 players.
